Computer Network Technician
JOB DESCRIPTION
Northern Michigan technology service provider is seeking an Entry/Mid-Level Technician to serve our clients. Job will involve supporting our clients' network, server, and
workstation environments. Work to be performed both remotely and on-site. Position will also include working on project teams for large deployments, and general IT projects.
DUTIES
Monitoring and troubleshooting multiple client networking environments
Providing user support assistance in developing and implementing client's computerized information systems, including hardware and software requirements
Acting as help desk and technical support analyst for any and all user requests/requirements; ensure that help desk problems are controlled through a timely and structured process; ensures that
complex problems are elevated to the proper level of support
Assisting users in solving computer system problems related to efficient processing of input and output data; answering technical questions to enhance user development
Providing on-site assistance, training and or support for managed clients on as needed or scheduled client visit
REQUIRED SKILLS
Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
Advanced PC troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of Cisco IOS Architecture
Cisco LAN Troubleshooting Experience
Occasional on-call and after hours work required
Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills
Ability to anticipate obstacles and develop plans to resolve
Strong team player with the ability to collaborate well with both clients and other team members
Must display a strong desire to achieve and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
Candidate should also show excellent communication skills
Candidate should possess a high level of customer advocacy resolving issues on their behalf
Candidate must possess valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
PREFERRED SKILLS
IT or Computer related degree, A+ and/or Net+ Certifications, or equivalent
experience
2-3 years experience in a service provider environment
MCP or CCNA certifications
Knowledge of Cisco IOS and various Cisco technologies (firewalls, routers, switches, wireless)
